Psalms 63:6-8
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
On this 2021 Watch Night, we can stop, assess, and look back on what has happened over the year.
We can figure out exactly where we are right now and the road that got us here.
Psalms 119: 148-150
148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O Lord, quicken me according to thy judgment.
150 They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
Looking to the upcoming year, we can realistically set in our minds what may be ahead for us. Viewing real-world problems from on the solid ground of WHAT IS.
Our “debts and debtors” can be, ideally settled, squared away, or envisioned on how they will be carried into the New Year.
What have we learned? What needs to be noted? What needs to be put into action so we can truly know it?
A time or prayers of thanksgiving, worship, intercession, and supplication.
Psalms 90: 4
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
A time for renewing of strength and steeling our countenance. Fortification of our resolve.
Remembering our brothers and sisters who’ve passed through The Veil.
A night of celebration of gratitude, and a sober event of situating ourselves in prayer, spiritual works, and reality.
Wishing us all a spiritually, emotionally, and physically prosperous New Year.
Amen!
